Dear Why Team member,

Are you nailing it?

We each need a special place, a place that brings us joy or at least comfort, a place we can call our own: a home.

a place we can call our own: a home. What emotions cross your mind when you say: it feels like home to me?
And every house before becoming a home is just a…structure, a structure that takes lots to build so it will last for years to come. Your mind gives life to the structure and converts it from a house to a home. Consider the building of a house and how many nails it requires. What are the nails you need to hit every day to build and strengthen your house, your home, and the life you want?

Are there nails you are not endeavoring to hit or are missing when you swing your hammer?
Could more collaboration with others help with your construction?
Would you like to remodel or add an addition?
Where do you need to nail it?

Since you’re reading this post you are already part of a group of master builders but are there places in your life that need an extra nail or two?
If so, identify what you want to build, why you want to build it and grab a bucket of nails!
Of course it helps to have a great hammer; YOU are the HAMMER!
No matter how old you are, you are still building and caring for your house. Our body, the house of our mind, continuously needs attention and care. How healthy are you eating, are you exercising, training and are you resting enough?

So far, in 2022, we have covered
Four ways to have your Best Year Yet:
  1. Be Accountable
  2. Be Flexible
  3. Be Accepting
  4. Be Humble

Are you taking care of yourself, do you have the energy and fortitude to drive in the nails that will effectively build a better life to better serve you and others?
Think of the daily nails you feel you need to hit if you are to build what you want to build.
The fundamentals must be addressed first before we can give sufficient time to the decoration, comforts and facade. It all starts with having a solid foundation for your house so you can turn the house into a home that you love and supports you.
Consider the nails you must hit to get a good night's sleep - hammer into your psyche the importance of quality sleep if you are to be on your best behavior tomorrow - early to bed, early to rise: healthy wealthy and wise. Are you nailing it well with your food choices? If not, ask why?
Why is putting crap in our bodies defined as a treat?

Love yourself enough to care for yourself - nail down your priorities - if your priorities are feeling loose, nailem' down.

Each nail driven contributes to the overall construction of your life.
What are you building and why are you building it? Be more intentionally proactive less unintentionally reactive! When it comes to your priorities, your infrastructure, your foundation, are you nailing it? And if not, consider rededicating yourself to what you want to construct in 2022.
Start with your WHY to establish your WILL and your Will will show you the WAY to Best Nail it!

Once the house is solid enough to become a home, pay attention to the sentiments you’re putting around the house.
Are you humble and accepting? Maybe we didn’t build right from the very beginning, what do we need to nail-down to make changes to fortify the house?
Are you flexible to change and do you keep yourself accountable?
Just like you’re working on not putting crap into your body, don’t put any crap into your mind either.
Surround yourself with positive people that can foster the same positive habits and attitude in you as well. This is the year of collaboration for pulling ourselves out of the rut we may have been stuck in the past couple of years.

Step #5 for your Best Year Ever:

Be Consistent

Once you have found a positive groove, once you feel confident on how you’re hitting those nails every day and you’re seeing good, solid results, keep at it, keep hitting that nail on the head; driving in those powerfully positive habits.
The Romans summed it best:
Mens sana in corpore sano:
“a healthy mind in a healthy body"

In this New Year, our Best Year Ever, consider all the more the importance of what you are building and how you are maintaining it. A healthy body in concert with a healthy mind, born from the daily disciplines you nail to build and maintain your Best Life Ever!

Make it a great week nailing it!
