Why “Mirror Time”?

 Dear Why Team member,
Wow! Can you believe it?
Who would have ever guessed so much change in so little time?

It is hard to stay focused on the half-full portion of the glass when the other half has emptied so quickly;
But We Will Find A  Way.

Consider the importance of Faith!

When we are faced with a new situation or challenge, our brains quickly search for answers - and the actions we take are informed by our past experiences and current level of Faith. Has not your journey so far provided lessons of what is possible? How would you have discovered your capabilities without the mountains you had to climb and then descend?
Your ability to persevere through hardship, to overcome significant adversity, is largely beyond your awareness. It is through the fire that we burn away the dross, the excess, that which is not pure.
Recent research reveals that part of our DNA, where our purest instincts are conserved, will only be activated in very difficult situations. Apparently, we cannot know some of our most significant capabilities without the hardship that would reveal them.
Take a moment to imagine what your ancestors endured, my goodness, what all did they endure to make us possible?
Is it now our time, more than ever, to step up and be worthy of the prices they paid?!
How may we model for the next generation? What will be said of us? One could easily argue that our pursuit of more and more comfort, more and more safety, has made us more and more fearful and anxious.

It is said that adversity reveals us; hardly a day goes by that I don’t reflect on this wisdom. We come to know ourselves through adversity. Every professional knows the importance of reflection on strengths and weaknesses; periodic reflection on what was done well and what was done poorly.
Have you been reflecting?
How have you done through the quarantine?

Consider taking a good long look in the mirror, I know you are used to seeing yourself in the mirror, but I’m suggesting some extra time to look at yourself, enough time to where you can transcend the skin and reach into your soul. Are you up for whatever life is bringing you? Are you stepping out and taking your life back? Are you contributing to the well-being of your neighbor, maybe with distance, a mask, how about spending money? We live in an interdependent world - now more than ever, we’re awakening to our need for each other. Our life and how we live it impacts others.
But herein is where I think we find the greatest meaning for our life:

The Why of our Life.

I truly believe we find greater meaning and purpose when we take on more responsibility. We all expect more from the better players on the team, and they became the better players by expecting more of themselves.

Remember your Creativity.

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention.
What new is emerging from you?
What experiments have you been conducting that will make you better, stronger, and more capable?
How may you turn adversity to an advantage - for you and for others?
Have you thrown out your disciplines or drilled down on them?
As Wayne Dyer often said,
“Don’t Should On Yourself.”
Begin anew NOW!
Write down your aspirations, put a date, and time on the steps to get there.
Be PRO-Active! Is not the true PROfessional more PRO-active?
Notice how being RE-active will eat your lunch.
BE INTENTIONAL, and you’ll find yourself more fired up, confident, courageous, and more of what the world needs right now.

All of this FUELS FAITH!

It’s my hope that you will invest more time into “Mirror Time.”
Do you like what you see?
If not, do something about it - for yourself and everyone else.
Make the world a better place for being alive here and now; it’s a powerful and wonderful way to live - no matter the circumstances.

There is more meaning and purpose to be had - pick it up! You can carry it! Be more of the solution and notice how much more you come to appreciate the person reflected in your mirror.

Make it a great week!
