Dear Why Team member,
I hope this week’s message finds you well and living conscious of your best day ever.
2022 feels particularly remarkable to me. The feeling of a fresh start remains alive and well and I find myself ending every email with
BEST YEAR EVER 2022 :-)
My close friend and colleague remarked a few days ago:
“Isn’t it great to be working in our Best Year Ever?!”
Clearly she feels the same.
How about you?
Are you living in your Best Year Ever?
And if not, than why not?
The quality of our life depends upon how we are experiencing life and is thus all about attitude isn’t it?
You may be going through a very tough time right now and of course it would be very hard to slap a smiley face on your situation, but with a bit of reflection, you might find that what is happening is the environment that will grow, develop and strengthen you into the person you will be proud of being in the future; a person more fearless, more compassionate, more empathetic and more capable of loving and serving others.
After living the first full month of
BEST YEAR EVER 2022,
I continue my focus on
BEST DAY EVER!
Other than today being a day of year 2022, why is today the best day ever?
Because today is our life time!!
The only time we are alive is now and the now is within today.
I’ve written recently about the most valuable moment of our life always being NOW, because it is the only moment we are alive! How can any other moment be more valuable than the moment we’re living? No matter how difficult this moment may be?!
Clearly a BEST YEAR EVER will need to be the sum total of our BEST DAYS EVER; and how can we be hurt by living each day as such? This does not mean we ignore the challenges that most surely will come our way, but rather greet them as sets and reps to strengthen us and develop us.
The ancient Stoics new well the benefit of starting a day doing something difficult - pushing through resistance and the natural avoidance of pain; when I reflect on my Best Days Ever, they almost always begin with a strenuous workout so, I adopted their model - training to be my best and feeling like a rock star on the other side. In fact I do a lot of my writing immediately after training when I am most fired up, awake, alive and feeling my cup is overflowing.
“The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately.”
– Seneca. On The Shortness of Life
How long are you going to wait before you demand the best of yourself?
Reflect on the days you have felt your best and as I shared last week, nail down the formula. What sequence of activities best fuels you to feel and behave your best? Nail down that sequence and start living more than ever your BEST DAY EVER and surely they will add up to your
BEST YEAR EVER!
Make it a Great Week living one
BEST DAY EVER at a time!
