What is your definition of a successful life?
Surely one element must be being a positive inspiration to others and having great people around you that can inspire you.
This week we are fortunate to receive some beautiful wisdom left for a good friend of mine by his dying wife. He has all of these words committed to memory and to honor her memory, he also tries to do his best and live out these words every day of his life; his sharing of them with me inspired this week’s post.

I am very grateful to him for his vulnerability and for allowing me to share with you what has been so deeply impactful to him.

What is Success? (Author unknown)
Success is measured day by day,  it’s life that’s lived, not squandered,
It’s problems solved, meanings found, not just futures pondered,
It’s sorting out our hopes and dreams, from visions all too fleeting
It’s choosing goals within our means, not projects self-defeating,
It’s loving self and others too,
It’s finding peace in duty,
It’s sensing harmony in life and seeking nature’s beauty,
It’s living life for all it’s worth, not fearful of tomorrow,
It’s accepting all that’s gone before,  not dwelling in past sorrow
Success is measured not by wealth, it’s there for rich or poor,
For all who give each day their best, it leaves an open door.

Prayer - St. Francis of Assisi
Dearest Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury; pardon
Where there is doubt; faith
Where there is despair; hope
Where there is sadness; joy
Where there is darkness; light
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved, as to love,
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life...
Amen.

Make it a great week!
